Both consumers and those in the Promotional Products industry were thrown for a loop this past April when a Today Show story broke that cautioned against using polycarbonate bottles because of a chemical used in their make-up. The chemical in question was Bisphenol A, a plastic hardening agent, and the reports caused such a stir that some manufacturers removed polycarbonate bottles entirely from their product lines. However, more light has been shed on the matter in recent days as the FDA released a report clearing the air and declaring Bisphenol A safe for consumption.
